Le Quote π£οΈ
βLife has been throwing me some lemons lately, and Iβm still figuring out how to make the metaphorical lemonade. I have a whole bunch in my basket; just figuring out the recipe.β βΒ Bruce Rouillard.
Le Shoutout π§£
Quite a few people are holding baskets filled with lemons at the moment. The cool thing about Bruceβs perspective (above) is that he sees the value and potential in the lemons.
While we seldom know how to make great lemonade, we can reassure ourselves in the knowledge that great lemonade is made from excellent lemons.
The first step in making great lemonade is acknowledging your lemons, taking them out of your basket and squeezing out all the usable juice.
Shoutout Bruce.
Le Story βοΈ
Jaydee Rex goes to the gym every morning. He has been on a fitness journey for a while now. He trains hard and shares his small victories with everyone. Despite being highly motivated and disciplined, Jaydee got to a point this year where he felt burnt out. He felt like he didnβt have the energy to do anything. So, he took a day off work and the gym and spent a weekend on a nearby farm.
The weekend away did his soul wonders.
He returned to the gym the following Monday. For some reason, while watching people doing pull-ups on the pull-up bar, he remembered something he had always wanted to do: a βmuscle-upβ.
For those who donβt know what a muscle-up is, itβs a highly explosive exercise where you hoist your body into the air like an absolute beast and do a push-up on the pull-up bar. Not many people can do one!
So, with a clear vision and the desire to attempt something he wanted to do, Jaydee said to himself, βI will do a muscle-up before the end of the yearβ.
He had five months.
With the help of his gymnast friend, he started taking small steps. He improved his pull-ups, push-ups, core work, technique, and diet (losing weight helps you launch your entire body into the air like a human trebuchet). Most importantly, he set an achievable goal with achievable daily steps that could be completed in an achievable period.
So, last Tuesday, only four months after he set his goal, Jaydee completed a muscle-up.
He felt proud of his accomplishment! He had officially joined the small group of people worldwide who can do 1x muscle-up!
He celebrated it. Then, without hesitation, he set his sights on being able to do two.
Thankfully, the process behind completing your second muscle-up doesnβt take four months to accomplish; it takes mere days.
Le Neigh from Philosophical Horse π΄
βFor this weekβs Neigh, I want to say more than βNeighβ. I want to say βLemoneighβ? Do you get it? Please add a laughing emoji after theβwait, why are you still writing? Neigh!β

Le Comment Section π¬
Last week, Le Question asked: βWhether itβs the whole world or just one personβs world, how can you change the world today?β
Immediately after posting the question, I realised something was missing: βyour worldβ.
It should have read: βWhether itβs the whole world, one personβs world, or your world, how can you change the world today?β
Moments later, an email from my sewing teacher, Mascha, popped up in Le Inbox. It said, βThe only world we can change is the one within us, and the only way to change it is by taking full responsibility for our own lives and the fact that we created it.β
If you change your world, you change the world as a result.
Thoughts?
Le Question π€
What is a simple, achievable goal that you can start working towards today?
Have a great Monday, everyone!
