Le Quote π£
βJust smile; you donβt need to use words.β
β Rev Elizabeth Cherry
Le Word π¬
just (adjective) behaving according to what is morally right and fair.
Le Shoutout π§£
Back in 2020, Sam Holmes started a podcast.
βKids Eat Toast Sometimesβ, better known as KETS, taught Sam how difficult starting something can be.
Sponsors werenβt biting. So, to make things work, Sam and Chloe Melville (who joined Sam as co-host) used their creative skills to make content for other companies, funding their show as a result.
After a while, they realised that the thing they were doing to fund their show was actually the thing they were really good at.
Now, KETS has founded a small media agency called KETS Media, a successful pursuit that came from survival.
So, shoutout to Sam and Chloe for pursuing the thing, doing the non-thing to survive and then making it their thing as a result.
Le Story βοΈ
Yesterday, I ran to Plato Coffee again.
There, sitting outside, was a man. He had glasses on and was looking at his phone.
For some reason, in my heart, I felt the complete urge to say hello to him.
Note: I am currently job hunting, so my immediate thought was, βI donβt know why I feel like I need to say hello to him, but I will; he might be the exact person I need to speak to to get a job.β
So, I walked up and said:
βMorning. Sorry, I felt the urge to say hello to you.β
βHi,β he replied. βIβm new around here. Just moved down from Durban.β
βAh. Well, welcome!β I replied.
He smiled.
βThank you,β he said.
Le Neigh from Philosophical Horse π΄
βNeigh.β β Philosophical Horse.
Le Question π€
Who will you say hi to today?
Have a powerful Monday, everyone.
Remember to send this to someone who you think would enjoy Le Weekly:
Hereβs to finding our thing!
He mightβve been exactly the person you needed to speak to to get a job, but maybe you were also the exact person he needed to feel welcome in his new hometown. Whether or not he had that job opportunity in his back pocket, both of you left that interaction richer for it π
