Le Quote π£
βSeize the new day.β β Clint Adonis.
Le Word π¬
seize (verb) take (an opportunity) eagerly and decisively.
Le Shoutout π§£
Last week, Mudda, one of the people I frequently sauna with, invited me to break fast with him at the mosque.
βOf course,β I said.
When the day came, we arrived, said our greetings and broke fast.
Afterwards, I followed Mudda to a place called Arshads Kitchen.
βThis is going to be the best Tikka Chicken youβve ever had,β he promised. βYoh, and youβre going to be so full afterwards.β
So, with excitement, we grabbed our food, found a table, and opened the polystyrene lids without hesitation.
One bite, two bites, three bites, four.
After a while, the meal started mealing βΒ all the chips were finished and, no matter how much I wanted to eat the chicken, I didnβt have enough space to eat more.
βYoh, Iβm full,β I said.
βDid you eat the chips first?β one of Muddaβs friends asked.
βYes,β I replied.
βNah!β he said. βYou never eat the chips first, otherwise you wonβt have enough space for the chicken!β
Later that evening, Mudda told the others about Le Weekly.
βSo, are we going to feature?β one friend asked.
βI donβt know,β I said.
βWhat would you write about from tonight?β another friend asked.
βIβd probably write about when Reeaz told me to never eat the chips first because you wonβt have space for the chicken; there is a nice life lesson there,β I replied.
βNice,β they replied.
Shoutout Mudda for the invite.
Le Story βοΈ
A few years ago, I was directing a television shoot at Game in Canal Walk.
We needed to wrap things up, but there was still an entire baby section we needed to film.
It wasnβt in the brief, so we didnβt need to film the baby area, but taking some additional footage would save us if we got back to the studio to find out that we did need to film it.
I stood there, thinking: Should we go to the baby area and shoot some extra footage? Or should we wrap up and go home?
I couldnβt decide what to do.
βJust make a decision,β Dale said, holding the camera.
βCool, letβs go film the baby area,β I said.
And we went and filmed the baby area.
Le Neigh from Philosophical Horse π΄
βNeigh.β β Philosophical Horse.
Le Question π€
What is the chicken and what are the chips?
Have a powerful Monday, everyone.
Remember to send this to someone who finds meaning in lifeβs smallest moments.
Last week, my baby area was the βpersona profileβ. Currently working with an amazing new client to develop a landing page. Google Sheets has a nifty tabs bar to segment content. In two of them, Iβd written two persona profiles (and got a bit carried away with their backstories). After completing the structured landing page copy, I intended to remove the persona profile tabs before sending the doc through to the client. I forgot to do so. The client loved them. Glad I filmed the baby area.
My grandson often has Friday night sleepovers with me. He highly recommended ordering an additional Oreo MacFlurry (for me) so I could taste something amazing. We did. We ate them first. We couldnβt finish our supper. The struggle is real. I hope his parents donβt read this. π€ͺπ€ͺ
