Limpopo’s Chymamusique really blew the house down at the 28th South African Music Awards (SAMAs) with his third studio album, Musique.

The soulful house musician won Male Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, and Best Dance Album.

Since the release of Lost In Words in 2011, the 32-year-old has garnered remarkable popularity and international acclaim. Pulling crowds and sharing the stage with DJ heavy-weights like Ralf Gum, Vinny Da Vinci, and Brazo Wa Afrika has become a hobby.

Musique deserved the SAMA spotlight. Plush with an hour and 20 minutes of energy and flair, with big nods to Chymamusique’s gospel and jazz beginnings, the 13-track album is the refreshing, hopeful drink many of us needed.
