Le Quote ๐ฃ๏ธ
โItโs coming to me.โ โ Michael Henning.
Quick Note on Le Quote ๐ฃ๏ธ
The other day, I asked Michael Henning if he had an original quote for me. Being a natural comedian, I knew Michaelโs quote would have a humourous yet inspirational tone.
He said, โI do.โ
Anticipation.
Expectation.
A few seconds passed.
Nerves kicked in.
A few more seconds passed.
Typingโฆ
Waiting.
Typingโฆ
*Ping!*
At long last, his message came through.
It said:
โItโs coming to me.โ
Good enough. Iโll take it.
Michael didnโt intend for this message to be Le Quote, but the significance of the message couldnโt be ignored. It captures The Law of Attraction in a beautifully unintentional manner.
As they say, โThe arrow doesnโt seek the target; instead, the target attracts the arrow.โ
Targets donโt move to the spot where the arrow is pointing; rather, you point the arrow at the target. Once released from the bow, the arrow doesnโt miraculously find the target; no, the arrow flies in the direction in which it was aimed.
So, just like Michael said, โIt is coming to meโ. He chose to become the target.
The arrow in question? A quote.
Le Shoutout ๐งฃ
A few seconds later, Michaelโs actual quote came through.
It said:
โItโs not about how much you can get done in your life that counts. Itโs about how much life you can count while getting things done that truly matters. Rosetta coffee is my favourite.โ โ Michael Henning.
Shoutout Michael.
Enjoy your coffee.
Le Story โ๏ธ
Last week, after a sunrise swim at Clifton 4th Beach, a few of us decided to go for a coffee.
Upon arrival at Tamboerswinkel, a man decided it was the perfect morning to drive into the back of my vehicle.
I pulled over, opened my door, stepped onto the street and prepared to โchat logisticsโ with the man. Sadly, he had driven away.
โNo worriesโ, I said, โHopefully there is no damage.โ
Thankfully, there was no damage. So, I locked the car and walked to the cafe.
Matt Rosin and Mike Norman were standing outside.
โBru, what just happened?โ they asked.
โNot sure. Luckily there is no damage,โ I said, โWhereโs Jack?โ
โHeโs already inside asking for the CCTV footage,โ Matt replied.
Wholesome.
Unfortunately, Tamboerswinkelโs security camera doesnโt point at the street (understandably), so the bumper-bump wasnโt captured. Regardless, I felt an immediate sense of appreciation that Jack had dropped everything he was doing (eating a bagel) to check the cameras inside.
While standing outside in the sun, I felt rather calm and completely unphased by the altercation. I realised my reaction to the bumper-bump would have been completely different had it happened at any other time of the week when stress levels were high.
But thankfully, the mixture of ocean swimming, good people, great weather, delicious coffee, and a solid morning of work lined up meant that my mental state was good. As a result, the bumper-bump didnโt dent me.
It became immediately clear that doing whatโs good for your body, being around the right people, and working on what you need to work on matters.
