Jess has never seen herself as a runner.

A knee injury in grade eight knocked her confidence, making her feel like she wasn’t built to run.

“I’m not built to run,” she’d say.

But, this year, after sixteen years of not running, she joined a run crew and set out on a running quest.

Last week, after a few months of training, she ran her very first 10km. Naturally, because it was her first time doing it, she achieved a personal best.

Turns out Ms Wright is built to run, I guess!

Le Story ✍️

The night before the Gun Run 10km, Jess asked where she should park before the race.

“There,” I said, pointing at the map.

“Cool,” she replied.

So, the next morning, Jess jetted off to the pre-planned parking lot.

However, upon arrival, there wasn’t an open parking spot.

I was still sleeping in bed, but that didn’t stop my beautiful sister from calling me.

*ring ring*

“Yes, Jess,” I answered.

“There is no parking, what must I do?” she asked.

“Just find parking,” I replied.

“Just find parking,” she repeated, “okay cool” she said, before putting down the phone.

A few minutes later, I received the message below:

That thing we are looking for is always so much closer than we think.
