Last week, I ran to Plato Coffee for a morning motivational quote.
The air smelled fresh, the sun was out, and you could smell summer.
I entered the coffeeshop, received my coffee, and read the quote:
“Never regret doing what makes you smile.”
“Hmm, what makes me smile?” I asked myself.
I thought about it for a bit.
Running? It makes me feel goo, but doesn’t actively make me smile.
Drinking coffee? It makes me say “mmm, but doesn’t actively make me smile.
Fresh air? It makes me feel at peace but doesn’t actively make me smile.
I looked at my watch; it was time to run home.
I started walking away from the coffee shop. As I was leaving, a car pulled up—a Toyota. The passenger’s door opened, and the passenger stepped out. He was young, roughly 20 years old, and looked like a cool dude. He was wearing a full white sweatsuit with slides on his feet.
He closed the door, turned around, and looked at me.
“I like your outfit,” I said, returning his gaze.
“Shot dude!” he replied.
And we both proceeded to smile.
Shoutout to the guy with good style.

Last week, while sitting in the sauna, someone pushed the button that pours water over all the hot rocks.
As always, the button didn’t work.
Week in and week out, the button gets fixed. It works for a day and then stops.
For five years now, the button has been changed at least ten times, but for some reason, they have never tried fixing the mechanism inside the wall itself.
